What happens after the dune bashing stops

Every evening dune bashing desert safari ends the same way: the 4x4 drops down off the last ridge and you arrive at our Al Badayer desert camp for dinner. The grills are already going, the seating is low around the stage, and the shows start once most guests are served. It is the half of the evening people remember as clearly as the drive.

The BBQ dinner

Dinner is a live-grilled buffet, cooked at the camp rather than delivered in trays. A typical spread includes grilled chicken and lamb, rice, salads, hummus and Arabic bread, fresh fruit, and unlimited soft drinks, tea and Arabic coffee.

Vegetarian and vegan guests are catered for as standard — tell us when you book so the kitchen prepares enough.
Halal: all meat served at the camp is halal.
Allergies and dietary needs: send them with your booking and the kitchen will work around them where it can.
Children eat from the same buffet; simple options are always available.

Live Tanoura show

Tanoura is an Egyptian folk dance descended from Sufi whirling. The performer spins continuously in a weighted, illuminated skirt, lifting and turning it into shifting discs of colour. It runs roughly ten to fifteen minutes, it is entirely family-friendly, and it is the show most guests film.

Belly dance performance

A classical belly dance set follows, performed to live Arabic music on the camp stage. Performances are kept appropriate for a family audience of all ages. Where local regulations restrict a performance on a given date — during Ramadan, for example — the camp substitutes an alternative act rather than cancelling the entertainment.

Which packages include it

The BBQ dinner and the live shows are included with our evening packages, not the morning ones. Choose the shared evening desert safari for the standard camp experience, the private evening safari if you want your own 4x4 for the drive, or the private luxury evening safari for private seating at the camp. Morning tours finish before the camp opens for dinner, so they do not include the shows.

Timings shift with sunset: pickups run earlier in winter and later in summer. Our team confirms your exact pickup window the day before on WhatsApp.
